T-Mobile in conjunction with ICD (Innovative Converged Devices), have brought forth a connectivity solution for the busy families – the Vega Tablet. This device was on display at CES this year. Scheduling and planning family activities, browsing the internet, listening to music, watching movies can all be done with this tablet.
The ICD tablet has been designed to be planted in the kitchen. That’s one place all family members are sure to visit atleast once during the day. The common family calender on the tablet can be used by all the members to fill in their daily schedules, for the others to see. This calender can be accessed from other devices like mobile phones, laptops and PCs. With this new device, you’ll never forget important days like birthdays and anniversaries of your loved ones, despite your hectic work-life. The Vega also sends messages to mobile phones of the family members, to remind them of any such events coming up.
Coming to tech specs of this 15″ touchscreen tablet – it runs a customised version of the Android OS. It has the NVIDIA Tegra 250 GPU integrated within, which gives it the ability to play high definition movies – 1080p videos. On-demand TV is also featured. Hands-free calls can be made as there is provision for a SIM card. Currently, you will get a T-Mobile SIM card only to work with this device. You can even make video calls. WiFi is supported for internet connectivity. Thus browsing the internet and accessing social networks are all possible with the Vega tablet. Other entertainment features include FM radio and games.
The availability and pricing of the T-Mobile-ICD Vega Tablet are yet to be officially announced.
